Havenside

Band number twenty-four on Siri's "Bands to Listen to" list: Havenside.  These California guys used to follow me on Instagram (sad face) but I'm still here checking out their music!

Overall they'd fit right in with the Houston We Have a Problem festival line up, and their sound is not the usual intense fast-paced heavy feeling.  Their music sort of embodies a slower more breakdown-ish feel.  Not saying that ALL of their songs sound like that.  First thing I want to note is that I hear a slight hint of We Came As Romans - mainly because of the unclean vocals and the way he sounds.  I get a sense of redemption and newly found self-confidence that literally says fuck the world ("Fuck everything" and "fuck everyone" from "Vengeance" lyrics).

They seem like they'd be intense to see live.  They're definitely not the kind of music that conservative parents would want their children to listen to.  From the "Endless Suffering" music video, they seemed really intense and I even got a little scared!  If you watch the video, you will see why.

They currently have no future tour dates up right now, but they do have a couple of shows in California; check them out if you're in the nearby area.  And their Nemesis EP is also out for purchase and download.  Give them a listen!
